My CyberSecurity Journey for 2025
Join me on my 2025 cybersecurity journey! From bug bounty hunting and Hack The Box VIP challenges to mastering Android security and revisiting digital forensics, this year is all about growth and consistency. Let’s learn, share, and hack together—one step at a time.
Stay consistent! – That’s it!.
I’m kidding. Well, maybe not entirely.
This post is mostly a note to myself, a way to put my goals out there and hope that the external pressure will keep me accountable for what I want to accomplish in 2025. But hey, maybe—just maybe—you’d like to join me on this journey too.
Bug Bounty Hunting: A Social Endeavor?
One of my goals this year is to truly enjoy bug bounty hunting. The problem? I haven’t had the patience to approach it properly—or the confidence to keep going when things don’t pan out.
Recently, though, I attended a live hacking event hosted by YesWeHack, and it was… not bad at all! That experience made me realize something important: I might be missing the social factor.
Bug bounty hunting solo can feel isolating, but doing it with a group? That’s a whole different vibe. Picture it: brainstorming together, sharing knowledge, sipping energy drinks (or mate / tereré 🧉), and indulging in something sweet to keep the energy up. It’s fun, dynamic, and motivating.
To get the ball rolling, I created a bug bounty schedule and study plan with the help of AI. It’s my roadmap for the first quarter of 2025. Want to join me? Let’s team up and tackle those bugs together!
Hack The Box: Going VIP
At the same Cybersecurity Conference in Argentina, I was lucky enough to win a one-month VIP subscription to Hack The Box. Naturally, I want to make the most of it. So, once again, I’ve called on AI to help craft a focused schedule and study plan for the duration of the subscription. It’s going to be a hectic month, but I’m excited about the challenge.
Mobile Security: Deep Dive Into Android (and Maybe iOS)
For the past couple of years, I’ve been diving deep into Android security, aiming for a solid, in-depth understanding of the field. I even created a curriculum last year with online courses and resources—but I haven’t followed through consistently.
That ends now. By the end of 2025, I’m determined to be a skilled Android pentester. If time allows, I’ll dip my toes into iOS security as well. It would be a huge career boost, and it’s a challenge I’d love to tackle.
Digital Forensics: Revisiting Old Passions
I’ve always had a passion for digital forensics, and I even hold a Digital Forensics Expert Certification. But honestly, it’s been a while since I actively used those skills.
While drafting this post, I impulsively searched for digital forensics modules on Try Hack Me (yes, mid-sentence!). That led me to Autopsy, an open-source forensics platform I’d trained on in the past. Turns out, I still have some training resources available from their portal. So, if time permits, I plan to revisit those skills this year.
Building This Blog and Giving Back
Finally—and perhaps most importantly—is the improvement and maintenance of this blog. I want to publish consistently, offering value to the incredible community that has helped me grow in my cybersecurity career.
My dream? To build a community where we share knowledge, play CTFs, and hunt bugs together. But for now, this blog is just taking its first baby steps, much like me. There’s no need to rush the process.
Wrapping It Up
That’s all I wanted to share, more for myself than for anyone else. But if you’ve read this far, thank you. I genuinely wish you the best on your own cybersecurity journey in 2025. And hey—if you’re looking for a study buddy, you’ve just found one.
As always, keep it fun, and happy hacking!
